Transport Planner

We are currently recruiting for Transport Planners to join a busy automotive logistics operation based in Ryton-on-Dunsmore. This is a fast-paced role supporting transport operations and vehicle movements across the UK.

The successful candidates will play a key role in coordinating transport activity, supporting operational efficiency, and ensuring effective communication across the wider transport team.

The Role:

As a Transport Planner, your responsibilities will include:

• Scheduling and booking daily transport movements
• Sourcing cost-effective transport solutions through subcontract hauliers
• Requesting the correct transport equipment based on customer requirements
• Monitoring subcontractor performance and service levels
• Planning transport activity in line with driver rules and regulations
• Maintaining excellent internal and external relationships
• Supporting the wider transport team with daily operational tasks

The Person:

• Previous experience within the logistics or transport industry
• Knowledge of the automotive industry is advantageous but not essential
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Confident using computer systems, as much of the role is computer based
• Able to communicate confidently with all levels of management internally and externally
• Confident using Microsoft Office packages including Excel, Outlook, and Teams
