MET Technician

We are currently recruiting for experienced MET Technicians to join a busy automotive preparation centre in Peterborough. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced operation and work alongside an experienced bodyshop team carrying out strip and refit duties across a wide range of vehicles.

We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable individuals with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently within a busy workshop environment.

The Role:

As an MET Technician, your responsibilities will include:

• Removing and refitting body panels and trim components in preparation for repair and paint.
• Stripping and refitting new parts and components.
• Ensuring vehicles are reassembled to manufacturer standards.
• Working efficiently to achieve productivity and quality targets.
• Maintaining tools and equipment in good working order.
• Supporting colleagues and working collaboratively within the bodyshop team.
• Ensuring all work is completed to the highest quality standards.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment.

The Person:

• Previous experience working as an MET Technician, Strip Fitter, or similar automotive bodyshop role.
• Industry qualifications are advantageous, although candidates with a minimum of two years' relevant experience will also be considered.
• Good communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong time management, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Reliable, organised, and professional approach to work.
• Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 6 points for minor offences.
