HGV Class 2 Recovery Driver

We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 2 Recovery Driver to join a busy automotive operation in Long Bennington. This is a varied driving role involving the collection and recovery of vehicles from customer sites and their safe transportation back to the Long Bennington site.

The successful candidate will operate a 5-tonne flatbed recovery truck equipped with a winch, travelling to various locations typically within a 100-mile radius of Long Bennington.

Please note that working hours are approximate due to the nature of vehicle recovery work. Some days may require a later finish depending on journey times and operational requirements, with additional hours paid accordingly.

The Role:

As an HGV Class 2 Recovery Driver, your responsibilities will include:

• Collecting and recovering vehicles from customer sites within approximately a 100-mile radius
• Safely loading vehicles onto a 5-tonne flatbed recovery truck
• Using a winch to assist with vehicle loading where required
• Transporting vehicles safely back to the Long Bennington site
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects
• Ensuring all collections and deliveries are completed safely and professionally
• Completing relevant paperwork and documentation accurately
• Representing the company professionally when dealing with customers and clients

The Person:

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
• Previous experience working as an HGV Class 2 Driver is essential
• Previous experience operating a flatbed recovery truck and winch is highly desirable
• Confident loading, securing, and transporting vehicles safely
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Reliable with a professional approach to work
• Comfortable with flexible finishing times depending on operational requirements
