Automotive Bodyshop Operatives

Hours: 8am – 5pm, Monday – Friday

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience

Igloo has a fantastic opportunity for a team of Bodyshop Operatives to work in the Hampshire region. Successful candidates will be working on the behalf of our client who is a privately owned automotive repair company with various locations UK locations.

The Roles:

MET Technician 

Within the MET Technician role, you will be working on a range of vehicles. You will be responsible for assessing, repairing, stripping, and refitting any mechanical or electrical faults with the vehicles.

Paint Sprayer 

Within this role you will be painting a range of vehicles using water-based paint schemes. You will need to colour match the paints prior to painting the vehicles. This can range from painting small repairs on a single panel through to full resprays of vehicles.

Panel Beater

In this Panel Beating role you will be working in a fast-paced modern Bodyshop, replacing, repairing, and filling body panels. The vehicles can range from small family cars through to light commercial vehicles.
You will need to be able to demonstrate a minimum of 5 years’ experience within a similar role.


In the VDA role you will be inspecting damaged vehicles and assess the damage. You will need to have a good understanding of vehicle refinishing and repair methods to ensure that you are recommending the correct repair methods and costings.
Within the VDA role you will be required to work 1 in 3 Saturday


Within the mechanic role you will be working on a range of vehicles where you will need to fault find, repair and service a range of vehicles.


Within the driving role you will be responsible for delivering and collecting vehicles from customers at their private and business addresses. You will also need to drive a single car transporter (3.5 ton).
Due to insurance reasons successful candidates will need to be at least 25 years old and a clean category B license.

What kind of person we are looking for?:

  • Successful candidates will have previous experience within their field of expertise within an automotive bodyshop.
  • Hold any relevant qualifications for the role.
  • Previous experience of working within a fast-paced bodyshop environment.
  • You will need to hold a full category B driving license.
  • Successful candidates will be driven to work efficiently, whilst to a high standard every time.
