Igloo Recruit a Golfer!
We are proud to announce that Igloo are now sponsoring Andy Cheese, a professional golfer. Here is a little on how Andy is getting on for March and April for his 2013 season.
He started off his season at the Olton golf club in the West Midlands on 7th March with a 1st place win at the Warwickshire PGA alliance with a score of 68.
After a couple of poor putting performances at the Hesketh Golf Club and the Addington Golf Club, he went back to the training ground and worked hard and made changes, giving him more confidence and belief in himself.
A 6th place in the Midland PGA ProAm at Blackwell Golf Club was his first payday since leaving the Proshop on 4th April. On the 18th of April he made his first trip to Lindrick Golf Club in South Yorkshire which was a past Ryder Cup venue in 1957 where Great Britain and Ireland beat the USA team. The Lindrick became one of Andy’s favourite courses, one which he highly recommends a visit. On this course, he battled 30mph winds and narrowly missed the cut by 1 shot.
A practice round before his Players Tour event at Heythrop Park would prove vital in the first 36 whole event of the season. The course measured 7100 yards and on a day with strong winds, scores were not as low as normal with such a strong field. “I was over the moon with a 2nd place finish on the Players Tour although a little disappointed to be beat to 1st place with a few groups remaining.”
His 2nd win of the season in the most recent event, on the 1836 Tour came at a picturesque Vale of Llangollen in Wales. A level par 72 in tough windy conditions was enough to tie 1st place in a strong field including European Tour pros such as Paul Broadhurst.
